Fiction writers Anne Enright and Ann Patchett read from their work as part of the 2008/2009 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series on Monday, October 6, 2008 at Zilkha Hall, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

Anne Enright, from Dublin, Ireland, won the 2007 Man Booker Prize (the British equivalent of the Pulitzer) for her captivating fourth novel, The Gathering. She came to Houston to read from her collection of stories, Yesterday's Weather. Ann Patchett is the author of the blockbuster novel Bel Canto, which sold over a million copies, was translated into 30 languages, and won both the Orange Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award. She came to Houston to read from her fifth novel Run, which spent many weeks on The New York Times Best Seller List.
