In January 2007, Inprint launched a new family reading series, Cool Brains! Inprint Readings for Young People. The series brings the country’s most exciting teen and children’s authors to Houston for readings and book signings.

The Series has featured Katherine Paterson, author of Bridge to Terabithia, Marc Brown, author and creator of the Arthur books and PBS series, David Macaulay, the author of The Way Things WorkThe Way We Work, Nick Hornby, author of Slam, and many others. Each of the writers give lively readings or make presentations about their work, followed by a book sale and signing, where kids can meet their favorite author.

The 2009/2010 Cool Brains! Inprint Readings for Young People is generously underwritten by H-E-B Tournament of Champions, Houston Endowment, The Methodist Hospital, and The Powell Foundation, and receives in-kind support from Continental Airlines. Cool Brains! receives promotional support from the Harris County Public Library, Houston Independent School District Library Services, and Houston Public Library.
